I’d like to think of our love story as one filled with “suddenly” moments.
Falling in love with one another took maybe about 0.2 seconds. And I think it’s safe to say that it was pretty easy to fall in love with my best friend, Zac. He’s funny on a good day, and can still make you laugh on a bad one. The past few months have been filled with laughter and joy, and building a whole ton of lego.
You know, maybe it is a whirlwind romance. And here we are. Planning a wedding, and choosing to build a future together - and there’s something so beautiful about choosing each other every single day, and for the rest of our lives.
Sometimes it takes a long time for God to move suddenly.
But hey, when you know, you know.
All that said, we would love to celebrate this new chapter in our lives with you!
- Jess
I have had the privilege of knowing Jess as a friend for over two years. I admired her joyful spirit and caring heart for others, how she mentored younger women and served at the Halton Women’s Shelter. As our friendship progressed, even though our personalities were very different I began considering and praying about her as a potential spouse.
Jess joined our Life Group for 20-something professionals in September 2024. After most every meeting we chatted for a long while, getting to know one another on a deeper level.
By December I sensed a strong calling from God to intentionally date towards marriage. In the New Year, on the first Wednesday session of a course called “Emotional Healthy Spirituality” at Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church I took the leap and asked her out on an epic 8-hour date.
By the end we were officially boyfriend and girlfriend, a first for each of us! We prayed together daily in the following weeks, realizing our patience in waiting was worth it and wanting to spend the rest of our lives together.
That brings us here, looking forward to our wedding day with all our friends and family!
